The Crafters

I am a founding member of The Crafters, a co-operative association formed in 1998. We are a group of crafts people from around the Scottish Borders who have come together to allow us to market our wares without having to pay large commission fees to others.

We have based ourselves in a shop in Melrose, famous for its ancient abbey (where Robert the Bruce's heart was recently reburied), in the heart of the Borders.

Each member practises a different craft. At the moment we have 13 members, with skills covering metal design, painted glass, dough craft and mosaic, wildlife drawings, traditional and recycled textiles, découpage, jewellery, painted wooden furniture, woodwork, and knitwear - not to mention pottery!
