The howff

Howff

This is the howff (a Scots word for a meeting place, usually a pub), where I do my work in Stow. It started life as a bakery, with stables attached. These were later demolished, and the building was put to use as a working men's club. More recently it was allowed to fall into a semi-derelict state. We have gradually been doing it up, so that it is at least waterproof. I have now transformed the interior into a basic studio, where I can do all my throwing, drying, decorating, and firing.
